Status and tendencies of development of standardization in the library case

The article provides information about the current state of standardization in the library industry. We are talking about experience of standardization work in some countries of the post-Soviet space, in particular, Belarus, Russia and the Baltic countries. It is a state of standardization in some institutions of NAS of Ukraine, the attention is focused on the work of TC 144 «Information and documentation» and Subcommittee 4 «Library activities». Emphasizes the importance of harmonizing national regulations with relevant international and European standards.
