Growth Scenario of Chilli Cultivation in Karnataka

The analysis of growth is usually used in economic studies to find out the trend of a particular variable over a period of time and used for making policy decisions. The growth in the area, production and productivity of chilli in India, Karnataka and the districts of Karnataka was estimated using the compound growth function. The necessary secondary data was also collected with regard to area, production and productivity of chilli for the past 15 years (1998-99 to 2013- 14) to understand the status of chilli production at national, state level and study districts.
