RECOGNITION OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS USING LEGENDRE AND ZERNIKE MOMENTS

Abstract
This research proposes a method based on the Zernike and Legendre moments that allows the recognition of materials used in construction works, for the selection and recognition of each material, which can be recycled and later used for housing construction. The moments allow an extraction of characteristics of the image, creating patterns for its recognition, with success rates that are between 75% and 95%. The advantage of using image processing is the reduction of operators and time in the selection of material
