Abstract

Due to the lack of gifted student care centers for a special mechanism for artistically gifted students, the present study aims to create a perception of caring for artistically gifted students in Saudi Arabia by analyzing factors that contributed to the success of six of the top international famous artists, namely: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne, and Pablo Picasso, by examining their CVs. The two approaches followed were: historical & descriptive, analytical - content analysis - and in-person interviews with two officials involved in this matter in the Education Department of the Madinah region. The study found various factors related to the personal characteristics of the artists, the role of their families, and the societal environments in which they grew-up and lived; and reached a number of teaching and learning strategies such as: discipleship style, individual learning, copying and simulation, the strategy of companionship, and enrichment programs; in addition to the importance of having external sponsorships. The study also found that these factors are appropriate to be applied as a proposed perception of caring for artistically gifted students with some conditions and differences in the application of some of these factors.
