Abstract

There are many reasons why English language teachers may choose to create their own teaching materials in effective online teaching, even though there are commercially available materials. This paper outlines some of these reasons by examining the pros and cons of teacher-generated materials. The authors also suggest things teachers should consider when designing or modifying the materials for various students, and then present a set of guidelines for designing English teaching and learning materials.
