Abstract

This scientific article states that agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is one of the most promising sources of strengthening the export potential, along with meeting the demand of the population for food and raw materials. It is revealed that it is a crucial link in the whole strategy of Uzbekistan's transition to market relations. Sixty percent of the country's population lives in the rural areas, and more than 44 percent of the country's national income is accounted by agriculture today. It is analyzed that agriculture is the basis of the republic's life, a source of development of leading industries, as well as one of the most important sectors of export resources and foreign exchange earnings. And large-scale work on modernization, improvement of land reclamation and irrigation systems, and further increase of soil fertility and efficiency is being continued and developed. In addition, Samarkand region has become a region for growing and exporting fruits and vegetables on the world market in a short period of time. Focusing on the development and reconstruction of land reclamation systems, marketing and the introduction of new technologies for access to world markets, which have led to increased productivity in the agricultural sector in the region as a result of co- operation with developed foreign countries
