Abstract

Industry 4.0 is aiming towards maximum efficiency through channels of automation and each industry is thriving towards productive manufacturing to survive in a competitive environment. Every industry is applying its all resources to deliver consistent optimum quality but ata minimal cost. Here, automation is the key that provides accuracy excluding human errors while lessening the costs of operation. This project provides the automated solution to a food processing industry as processing industries follow continuous production and hence there are many opportunities available to reduce human effort. The project is a machine vision system employed in the segregation of raw material with the application of image processing in order to avoid the processing of defective material at the very initial stages. The system consists of a camera sensor, microcontroller, and actuators and it works on principles of image processing. In process industries, it is very crucial to achieve constant quality as degraded products are wastage of material as well as resources invested in their manufacturing. Food industries, especially experience marginal losses if degraded products reach their customers. It is an attempt to avoid wastage, reduce human errors and mitigate hazards of customer reluctance through this project.
