Abstract
The Alvarado score was developed for the Caucasian population, and it renders a low sensitivity and specificity when applied in an oriental population. To mitigate this low sensitivity and specificity, a new scoring system was devised in Malaysia, namely RIPASA. The RIPASA scoring’s sensitivity and specificity are tested in the Indian population in this study.
