Determinants of Entrepreneurial Intention among University Students: The Impact of Entrepreneurship Education on Entrepreneurial Intention at Greek Universities Students and their Contribution to the Development of Students? Entrepreneurial Mindset

The importance of entrepreneurial activity for the economic and social development of countries is now well established. The literature shows significant and positive relationships between higher education, venture creation and entrepreneurial performance, as well as a strong relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention. The primary purpose of this paper is to provide some insights about entrepreneurship education mainly and of other most related factors founded by literature, secondly. The meaning of entrepreneurship education is explained through a literature review, and the need for the development and re-structure of these educational programs that focus on entrepreneurship is also highlighted. The research was conducted on 84 business administration students from two Greek universities through an online survey. The results showed that family environment and especially father’s occupation has a strong impact on entrepreneurial mindset and intention of students as so as their social environment and the support they receive from it. Also, it was observed that there is a difference on the level of entrepreneurial intentions based on gender and entrepreneurship education. This study recommends some ways to enhance the entrepreneurial culture among university students.
