Abstract

This article revisits the colonial and post-colonial period through the struggle for cultural and identity issues specific to the Kenyan people about whom the novel entitled The River Between witnesses. The crisis that dominates the novel requires the figure of a conciliator to allow the rise of a peaceful and free Africa from the white missionary and his henchmen. In addition to the religious context, the political, cultural and economic dimensions of the spoliation of Africa's assets must also be examined.
