Profile of a Leader in the Western Balkans Cultural Environment

The aim of this paper is to point to the characteristics of leadership in the context of the Western Balkan culture. The existing research of the characteristics of culture of this region will be used as well as the characteristics of leadership style. It starts with the presentation of the existing theoretical knowledge on interdependence between leadership and culture. Methodologically, the paper is based on comparative analysis. The complexity of the phenomenon of leadership and culture as well as the lack of systematic regional surveys in this area represents considerable research constraints. Based on current research, using analogies, the characteristics of the leader are drawn within the Balkan cultural environment. This paper should contribute to a better understanding of the causes and consequences of the ways of leadership in the region and the need to learn and change in the processes of European integrations.
