Abstract
This paper presents a brief survey and comparison between routing protocols proposed or adapted for vehicular ad hoc networks. These protocols can be classified into five categories according to the type of information that used to make the routing decisions. Some principal protocols are described in each group as well their adaptabilities are analyzed for VANETs.
