Abstract

The research objective is to explore the effect of competence on employee performance. In addition it aims to examine and explain the role of an employee's career in mediating the relationship between competences on employee performance. The research Design is explanatory, with data collection using survey methods. Sampling technique using proportional stratified random sampling. Because the number of respondents as many as 158 employees of Southeast Sulawesi Election Commission. Data analysis method used is the Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA). The results showed significant effect on the competence of an employee's career, career further significant effect on employee performance. But competence is not significant influence on employee performance. Eventually, an employee's career proved to act as a perfectly mediating effect between competencies with employee's performance. The practical implications can provide knowledge and understanding of the importance of behavioral aspects in the management of the organization through skill indicators, advancement carrier and work efficiency. Originality of this study demonstrates a conceptual model the role integrated of an employee's career as a perfect mediation between the competences on employee performance effect.
