Sustainable Energy for Manufacturing Industry An Indian Scenario

The well-being of society, economy and the environment depends on safe, clean, secure, sustainable and affordable energy. Much of the current energy supply is from the limited resources of fossil fuels which is deemed to be environmentally unsustainable. Being one of the fastest growing economies in the world, India faces formidable challenges in meeting its energy needs. To take on this challenge, India has to promote energy efficiency measures amongst the consumers and diversify its energy basket with renewable sources of energy. This paper is the outcome of an extensive literature survey on energy consumption by the Indian manufacturing sector and the importance of sustainable energy for the same.
