Abstract
The heat and mass transfer characteristics of natural convection over an inclined surface immersed in a porous medium subject to variable Prandtl number is considered. The Darcy effects including buoyancy ratio and inclination of porous plate are also included in this analysis. The governing partial differential equations are converted into ordinary differential equations using an appropriate similarity transformation and then the resulting equations are solved numerically. Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting method is applied to perform this computation. A representative set of numerical results of the present investigation for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are illustrated graphically to show interesting features of Prandtl number, Darcy number, buoyancy parameter and angle of inclination of stretching sheet. In addition, the Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also derived and discussed numerically in tabular form.
