Abstract

Cloud computing is a new paradigm in which computing is delivered as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to consumers as a utility over networks. Cloud computing is capable to provide massive computing or storage resources without the need to invest money or face the trouble to build or maintain such huge resources. Consumers only need to pay for using the services just like they do in case of another day to day utility services such as water, gas, electricity, etc. Scheduling algorithms are used for dispatching user tasks or jobs to a particular resource or data. Scheduling is a challenging job in the cloud because the capability and availability of resources vary dynamically. In this paper, we provide a review of various scheduling techniques used in cloud computing environment.
