Formation of professionally- directed socio cultural competence of future foreign language teachers at the practical lessons of second foreign language

Abstract

Pedagogical conditions for the effective formation of the social and cultural competence of future teachers of foreign languages in the process of higher education vocational training, namely practical classes in the second foreign language, have been considered in the article. Attention has been paid to the combination of scientific and methodological efforts in terms of social and cultural education through the means of joint study of two foreign languages and points to the problems that arise in the learning process. The content of the process of shaping the social and cultural competence of future teachers of foreign languages has been modeled as being cognitive, creative, open and personally oriented and is aimed at developing among students a system of well-established knowledge of the country and people whose language is being studied and the national and cultural characteristics and realities of the country; system of speech and communication skills and practical language skills; the ability to correlate one's culture with the culture of another country; the ability to see the general and different in these cultures, in the worldview of their bearers, in the systems of norms, rules for different life situations. It is during the practical lessons of the second foreign language that most of the work is devoted to the collective communicative activity of future teachers of foreign languages and to the presentation of communicative situations as priority means for the formation of social and cultural competence in various forms of communication, the effective use of appropriately selected thematic texts and exercises and assignments to them, and illustrative audiovisual material. The methodology for the formation of professionally oriented social and cultural competence of future teachers of foreign languages during the study of German language after English remains at present not fully understood and further research prospects in this scientific segment should be aimed at developing programs for the development of social and cultural competence, taking into account the specifics of a comprehensive study of two and more foreign languages.
