Professional image of future politologist: structural and functional model of phenomenon

The concept of "professional image" as a component of professional competence of the future political scientist is defined in the article. The professional image of the future political scientist is defined as a purposefully formed integral image that combines the inner world, appearance and professionally significant characteristics formed, depends on the personal and professional qualities of the specialist, provides the individual style of his professional activity. The author presents a three-component structural-functional model of the professional image of the future political scientist. External behavioral characteristics are attributed to the external component of the model: verbal and non-verbal behavior (facial expressions, gestures, etiquette, manners), culture of behavior, visual appeal. The procedural component contains professional knowledge and skills that a specialist must effectively implement during his or her professional activity, professional culture, civic responsibility, social activity, hard work, ability to interpersonal communication, dialogue, personal experience. Internal component includes orientation to personal and professional development, desire to create a positive professional image, values and interests, erudition, style of thinking, presence of positive "I-concept", self-esteem, self-esteem. The procedural component of the political image of the political scientist is aimed at the realization of personality in the professional field, the fulfillment of nominative, informative, connective, cognitive and creative functions. The functions that the internal component of the professional image of the political scientist performs are motivational, axiological and reflexive. The external component of the political image model of the political scientist includes aesthetic, emotional and interpersonal adaptation. Together, the functions of the components of the professional image of the political scientist we have selected are aimed at ensuring the success and competitiveness of the specialist and are of great importance in the development of the individual style of professional activity. It is emphasized that the formation of a professional image as a complex of personal and professional resources, providing in the future the possibility of effective realization of a specialist in professional activity, should become an integral part of the training of a future political scientist.
