Abstract

The current state of development of society, which is under difficult and contradictory conditions of economic and social and political instability, in our opinion, raises the demands for the mobilization of young people's emotional, cognitive, behavioral resources, their constant readiness to solve difficult life problems. Special attention is given to the student youth, whose violation of the adaptation process distorts harmonious personal and professional development, the possibility of successful self-realization, the ability to comprehend all the diversity of the world and culture. In such circumstances, increasing the adaptive capacity of the student body is one of the most important tasks of the education system and, in particular, of higher education institutions. The article deals with such a pressing issue of the present as mental stability. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate and empirically examine the psychological content and characteristics of the process of neuropsychic stability of students of higher education institutions in the humanities and economic specialties. To achieve this goal, the authors used the following methods and techniques of the theory of knowledge as analysis and synthesis, establishing causal relationships of the development of processes and phenomena, tabular and graphical methods. Mental resilience is a personality trait whose individual aspects are resilience, equilibrium, resilience, which allow the individual to withstand life's difficulties, adverse pressures, maintain health and performance in various trials. The article describes the results of an empirical study of the neuro-mental stability of student youth, and analyzes the results obtained. Both groups were found to have high levels of depression, indicating that there was a problem with depression in the student environment. As a result of the research it has been found out that special attention is needed to the process of adaptation to the education of students of higher educational institutions of humanitarian-economic profile, caused by the interaction of factors of psychological (cognitive, emotional, volitional) and social and psychological (social stereotypes, social status and role, social identity, etc.) of content.
