The use of electrical appliances and machines in the household can significantly reduce the time of homework, facilitate it, improve sanitation. Manufacturers of modern household electrical appliances are constantly expanding and improving the range, taking into account such areas as ensuring a high level of equipment with automatic control devices and regulation of operating parameters (temperature, power, speed, etc.); expansion of the complex of functions performed by household appliances; reduction of energy consumption, dimensions and weight; bringing the indicators of electrical goods to international electrical standards; improving the ergonomic and aesthetic level, etc. Small household appliances include household irons. The article considers the classification of irons by type. The types of soleplate irons as the main functional property of ironing devices have been analyzed. The design of an electric iron with a thermostat, a humidifier and a sprayer has been suggested. The soleplates of electric irons has been compared, the positive and negative aspects of their use in everyday life have been determined. It has been summarized that the main functional property of ironing devices is high-quality ironing of textile materials without damaging them, and the soleplates determines the functionality of the electric iron, which makes its properties one of the main criteria for choosing this device.
