Abstract

This article is devoted to one of the most productive and dynamic processes in the modern Russian language– word formation. The article identifies the main trends of modern Russian word formation, analyzes their features, emphasizes the close relationship of linguistic and socio-cultural factors. The scientific novelty of the work consists in an attempt to consider these phenomena in the language spheres of various functional orientation. As a result of the study, the general patterns of such significant phenomena as agglutination and suffixation are revealed, the increasing role of the law of language economy is confirmed, a significant influence of the emotional-evaluative factor in the modern word-formation process is noted.
