Personal characteristics of resocialization of the migrant

Abstract

The author of the article aims to highlight individual peculiarities of the process of resocialization of the personality who takes part in migrational processes. It is emphasized that socio-cultural adaptation is being transformed into resocialization and can lead to assimilation of the new cultural attributes, new social roles and behavioral repertoire. And successful resocialization is only possible in terms of indirect social base of the individual and intensive interaction with the personnel of socialization. The accent is put on the fact that many Ukrainians feel identification crisis that is connected with the need of resocialization. The new social reality requires new radical accents, biography rewriting and developing such qualities as autonomy towards social institutions, tolerance to other forms and ways of life, the ability to choose and orient in a huge informational flood. The article shows that resocialization can be investigated as one of the most complicated social processes, directed to overcoming desocialization of personality, i.e., when the personality retrieves qualities necessary for normal life in the society, acquiring of the new social roles and skills instead of the lost ones which were deformed or not formed, reorientation of social development of the personality by means of including it into the new positively oriented relations and types of activity. The most topical problem of the modern theory of migration is the complexity of social adaptation of the migrant as they encounter the necessity of resocialization in a new social context
