Abstract

With his remarkable views on politics and law, Carl Schmitt is an extremely important thinker in terms of public law and political philosophy. It is his approach, which is undoubtedly a revolt against modern thought, that attributes this value to him. Thus, the constructive relationship knotted in the decision axis between sovereignty and the state of exception, as well as his views on what is political and the determination of such a feature, although they have been discussed and interrogated since the day they were put forward, they can never be ignored. In his works, which include his reasoning in this and similar contexts, Schmitt wages a pen war against modern thought and the liberal order, while at the same time giving a significant power to his own front. This study is a work of curiosity to understand Schmitt's effort. For this, it is researched where the author stands in the face of modern thought, and while doing this, the lines of Schmitt's approach to politics and law are tried to be revealed on the axis of the ideas that he has put forward in his works called political theology and the concept of political.
