Abstract
In this study, nanocrystalline TiC carbide was prepared at room temperature via high-energy ball milling under argon atmosphere. Microstructure and quantitative analysis of various phases present in the prepared powders have been identified using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The morphological changes caused by milling were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The internal structure of nanoparticles was evaluated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The experimental results showed that the obtained carbide was a solid solution with FCC structure and with a crystallite size of 10 nm and a lattice parameter of 0.42898 nm.
