Abstract

This article considers the forms of prevention of suicidal tendencies of military personnel used all over the world. Despite the extensive work (which is carried out to identify servicemen who dare to commit suicide) and the experience of applying in practice various methods to identify signs of suicidal behavior in the National Guard of Ukraine, psychological support needs to be improved. The materials of official investigations into the facts of suicide in military units were also studied, where the factors influencing servicemen in everyday activities and in conditions of extreme activities, combat workload, which can lead to shortening of one's own life, were identified and analyzed. Using the method of a priori ranking, the most and the least significant indicators that cause suicidal behavior of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine were determined. In the future, the factors are divided into five blocks for more appropriate and correct work of the unit's immediate commanders during the personnel evaluation. A questionnaire “Assessment of susceptibility to suicidal behavior of NGU servicemen” is proposed, which contains criteria for assessing the propensity of servicemen to commit suicide, provide methodological support for the practical work of the commanders of units at any level in this direction.
