Timber, Small Timber and Fuelwood Calculations for Certain Species of Trees Found Outside Forests in the State of Gujarat

Measurement of trees and consequently calculation of timber has posed challenges to foresters in Indian forests. The determination of timber yield, small timber yield and fuelwood production from an individual tree outside forest area has been equally challenging. This paper attempts at making mathematical calculation of the three values based on size and shape of the tree. The proportionate yield of timber, small timber and fuelwood has been estimated and realistic figures have been arrived at.
