Abstract

Disaster is described as a major threat that can threaten the economic, social and physical development of a nation as well as the well-being of its people. The damage and loss of property and life caused by this catastrophe is great and unwelcome by any country. A good disaster recovery plan and a highly organized disaster management team, including community, can reduce damage and loss of life, while allowing the country to move forward and achieve a better state of the world with higher incomes. However, the implementation of the policy, especially in disaster risk management, requires not only co-operation, co-operation and commitment between related structures, but more importantly that the community becomes the first responder in the event of a disaster. In present times, despite many successes disaster risk management system is experiencing lot of issues and challenges. This study is especially focused on to highlight the challenges faced by the modern disaster management system. So that in future a better strategy can be formulated to handle the ever increasing danger of natural as well as manmade disasters and their massive destructions.
