Abstract

This paper examines the use of AC electrical machines in regulated electrical drive applications. To provide background and provide the physical foundation for the control techniques used, the main categories of electrical machines are briefly outlined. Computer properties are critical to effective control, but the mathematics needed for machine analysis and control scheme derivations will confuse them. The paper's main focus is on the control techniques that are being used to make AC drives a rapidly growing field. The evolution of control is explored, with a focus on recent developments that are ideal for realistic industrial applications with good dynamic action. The growing relevance of pace or location sensor less techniques is one notable aspect. The paper describes the modelling, simulation, and digital application of a multi pulse AC– DC converter to increase the power efficiency of DC drives. As it is well understood that power efficiency decides the suitability of electrical power for consumer electronics, this work has made an attempt to increase power quality. The effects of simulation and digital execution using MATLAB/Simulink have been explored in depth to validate the theoretical results. To determine the transient and steady state performances, the multipulse converter was attached to DC drives and operated at no load. FFT analysis was conducted, and the effects of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) at various pulses are seen here
