Abstract
Genitourinary tuberculosis accounts for approximately 5.3% of extrapulmonary tuberculosis [1]. It may involve the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, vas deferens, epididymis, and testes. However, prostatic tuberculosis can exceptionally be found as an isolated lesion. We report a case of a 60-year-old patient who was admitted to the emergency room with Acute urinary retention, and was treated as benign prostatic hyperplasia, with failure of medical treatment, and indication for transurethral resection of the prostate, whose histology came back in favor of prostatic tuberculosis.
