Abstract

Archaeographic publication is the fi rst attempt in Ukraine to publish historical sources, that were posted on Facebook social network during the 2 months of the Russian invasion (February – March 2022), on the pages of professional scientifi c journal. Its purpose is to present in paper the original texts of posts published in the author's Facebook profi le and have some historical signifi cance as a digital source, a source of a completely new type, the specifi cs of which have not yet been studied by modern source science. Such source materials are becoming more widespread, popular, gaining great scientifi c and social signifi cance, are a completely new kind of historical sources, even displacing traditional written sources from public circulation. Therefore, their publication, the beginning of scientifi c research becomes an urgent need for source studies. In this case – published posts on Facebook, which were a direct reaction to the beginning of the unprovoked aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and its people. Published posts come in various forms: journalistic, popular science, historical and educational, and so on. Together, they create a new source for future research into the history of the present, events and processes that are far from over. The posts are modern monuments, a historical refl ection of specifi c events, views, moods, public perception of the horrible, tragic and heroic time that Ukraine is going through, and the whole world is in the face of bold Russian aggression. They specifi cally refl ect the very spirit of the time, the social ideas prevailing in Ukrainian society, the rise of patriotism, the desire to punish the invaders. Their publication can be the beginning of a professional discussion about the historical sources of modern times.
