Abstract

This study looks into the concept of alienation as it relates to the usage and application of technology in the twenty-first century. With the aid of technology, business has grown even more in the modern world, and as a result, demand for and the type of work involved during this period have changed and evolved. The employment has generally become increasingly dependent on technology and ICT, the division of labor has taken on a new look, and the job is now more globally distributed and outsourced. Meanwhile, alienation is still pervasive and obvious when taking into account the impact of technology on the world and on countless businesses around the world, as well as when taking into account Karl Marx's theory. This phenomenon is demonstrated in a variety of fields, including education and business. The alienation can also be particularly noticeable in the BPO sector, as employees' health is now sacrificed for their jobs. In light of the 21st century, this article revives Karl Marx's antiquated theory in this modern times.
