Abstract

Introduction. The global pandemic has radically changed the world economy, actualizing the development of new approaches to economic policy. At the global level, states are involved in the latest forms of partnership and improving models of global development. Problem. Globalization has led to an irreversible process of deformation of market mechanisms of economic development based on the modification of the mechanism and the nature of competition. To solve a range of problems it is necessary to strengthen the role of the state in shaping the strategic vector of economic development. The aim of the article is to reveal the latest trends in the development of economic policy in the global pandemic. Methods. A set of methods and approaches was used: dialectical, synthesis and comparative; systemic and institutional approaches, the method of generalizations, the unity of historical and logical approaches. Results. In developed countries, resources are increasingly concentrated on strategic areas of economic development, which requires significant budget funds, strategic planning and more. Therefore, there is a growing need to form a new paradigm of economic policy. Theoretical and applied goals of the new format of economic policy are determined. It is established that the instruments of economic policy of the state need proper scientific substantiation. Conclusions. The place and role of the state in the current challenges of the pandemic is determined primarily by the fact that the state is seen as an entity that ensures the development and balanced functioning of all elements of the national economic system. The basis for the implementation of a balanced economic policy should be the scientific identification of strategic prio-rities for economic development and the definition on this basis of conceptual approaches and tools to form a system for identifying the approach of future crises.
