Modern views on the course of tuberculous meningitis

Abstract

Currently, some features of the course of tuberculous meningitis are observed. At the present stage, the meningoencephalitis form prevails, rapid generalization of the process, the absence of specific symptoms in the cerebrospinal fluid characteristic of tuberculous meningitis in patients who have received antibacterial drugs, most cases of tuberculous meningitis against HIV infection (69.7%), currently the ineffectiveness of treatment of most antibiotics used for tuberculous meningitis (45.6%). Tuberculous meningitis is characterized by high mortality. Modern molecular genetic methods can revolutionize the diagnosis of diseases.
