Abstract
This study aimed to assess factors that affect the career preferences of selected freshman college students of Basilan State College. One hundred twenty (120) freshman college students of Basilan State College was selected through stratified random sampling. Findings shows that personal and job/occupation factors, affect the career preferences of the respondents. The freshman college students are most affected by personal factors in their career preferences, followed by the job/occupation factors least affect the freshman students in their career preferences. Personal, family, social, and job/occupation factors were affecting the career preferences of the students in the different course, at different extent while economic, and school factors were affecting the career preferences of the student in all course, at the same extents
