A Primer on Robotics

Robotics is the discipline of designing and constructing machines, called robots. A robot is an autonomous mechanical device that is designed to sense its environment, carry out computations to make decisions, and perform actions like humans in the real world. It is a system that contains sensors, control systems, power supplies, and software, all working together to perform a task. Robotics is a relatively young field with highly ambitious goals.
