Abstract

Introduction. In the modern world, the importance of the activities of professionals of the social type of professions, the purpose of which is training, socialization, and adaptation of the individual, the preservation of physical and mental health, is sharply increasing, has an effective impact on social relations and social processes at different levels of social interaction. The success of the professional activity is influenced by several factors, both psychological and social since the process of professional self-determination is closely related to the self- realization of the individual. For the organization of the educational process, the creation of the content of psychological support requires knowledge of the socio-psychological features of professional self-determination of a young person at the stage of studying in a higher education institution, which will solve the problem of building such a system of the educational process that would optimally take into account the peculiarities and patterns of personal development of the student, requires close attention to the peculiarities of the process of their personal and professional formation. Methods. The study investigates this issue by analyzing the psychological and pedagogical literature on the studied issue, systematization. Purpose. To determine the leading directions of socio-psychological research by Ukrainian scientists, allowing to identify the specifics, social conditions, and characteristics of the psychological content of professions of a social type and predict the prospects for further scientific research. Results. The analysis of scientific research shows that scientists are trying to substantiate the psychosocial patterns of personality development of future specialists in social specialties as an important condition for professional training. This gives grounds for identifying several areas in the research of Ukrainian scientists, namely: scientists have identified common and different individual psychological characteristics and social conditions for the professional development of students in professions of the social type; the general and individual psychological characteristics of students mastering social professions are singled out. The core of the psycho-professional development of a specialist is the development of the personality of a professional in the process of vocational training, mastering the profession, and performing professional activities. The solution to this problem requires psychosocial support of a specialist, formed at all stages of vocational training and education. Conclusion. The study and analysis by scientists of psychosocial problems of the development of the professional activity of future specialists in social specialties are intended to compensate for the shortcomings of the developing potential of the educational environment, to activate the processes of the student's awareness of one's place and role in the social profession, to provide psychological assistance for the resolution of internal professional contradictions of students, effective social interaction in the conditions realization of professional activity.
