Abstract

In this investigation we have analyzed yearly average values of cosmic ray intensity (CRI) with a yearly average of sunspot numbers (SSN), geomagnetic activity parameter Kp and Ap index, observed during the period of 1997-2007 to explore the possible relationship between cosmic ray intensity variation and yearly average values of SSN, geomagnetic activity parameter Kp index, and geomagnetic activity parameter Ap index. We have observed that yearly average values of cosmic ray intensity are anti-correlated with yearly average values of sunspot numbers (SSN) and a large negative correlation with a correlation coefficient of -0.95 has been determined between yearly average values of cosmic ray intensity (CRI) and yearly average values of SSN. Further, the yearly average values of CRI are negatively correlated with yearly average values of geomagnetic activity parameter Kp and Ap index. Negative correlation with a correlation coefficient of -0.59 has been observed between yearly average values of CRI and yearly average values Kp index and -0.56 between yearly average values of CRI and yearly average values of Ap index .It is also seen that yearly average values of SSN is positively correlated with yearly average values of geomagnetic activity parameter Kp and Ap Index .Positive correlated with correlation coefficient 0.49 are determine between yearly average value of SSN and yearly average values of Kp index and 0.52 between yearly average values of SSN and yearly average values of Ap index .It is concluded that cosmic ray intensity is highly influence by solar activity parameter SSN and geomagnetic activity parameter Kp and Ap index
