Abstract
In light of the modern demographic, technical, market, and organizational shifts connected with it, work-life balance has become a topic of concern for study researchers and business executives alike. Few academic studies have attempted to provide a complete picture of the WLBPs (work-life balance benefits and programs) provided by different companies in India. This research has tried to assess where WLBPs are in Indian businesses now and what their future holds by drawing on existing literature as well as primary and secondary data. The paper's discussion of the difficulties inherent in putting such policies into practice should give HR managers pause before establishing WLBPs at their companies. Based on the existing literature and statistics, it seems that family-friendly policies at Indian companies have been represented in a variety of welfare benefits ever since the country's industrialisation. Over time, these kinds of efforts have expanded their focus to include personal development and family well-being. However, software and service companies in the new economy are particularly prone to adopting such rules and practices. In addition, WLBPs may include a wide variety of activities, and there is still a ways to go before they are widely adopted as strategic HR initiatives by most businesses
