Abstract

The article provides an analytical review of the activities of food industry enterprises with regard to compliance with the principles of ecologization, standardization and certification in the system of quality management and consumer rights protection. It is stated that currently, the activities of manufacturing enterprises take place in a competitive environment in which the key requirements are product quality, compliance with service norms and standards and consumer protection from low-quality goods and services. The mentioned aspect and the presence of complex production processes require innovative thinking, development and improvement of management systems from the management of enterprises. It is specified that one of the conditions for the successful functioning of an enterprise is its customer orientation and strategic decision-making, taking into account the requirements of environmental sustainability and safety. It is noted that currently, it is no longer enough for an enterprise to create a quality product, it also requires its introduction initially to the domestic and afterwards to the international market. For this purpose, the product must comply with safety and quality standards. One of the mechanisms of this process is certification. It is established that mandatory certification has been canceled in Ukraine and is now voluntary. However, companies that appreciate their reputation are interested in voluntary certification of products and services and conduct it on a regular basis. It is substantiated that with the growing interest of the State and the population in environmental issues, food industry enterprises have a negative impact on the environment in the course of their activities, and therefore seek to improve the environmental performance of their work. It is specified that the implementation of the principles of ecologization, standardization and certification in the management system of food production enterprises increases the economic efficiency of their activities. The fundamental principles and criteria of ecologization have been defined. The practice of compliance with the principles of ecologization, standardization and certification in the system of quality management and consumer protection in the activities of food industry enterprises based on the use of ISO standards was investigated. The advantages of introducing and implementing food safety management systems and environmental management systems at food industry enterprises have been determined.
