Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of meeting the needs of a modern person through virtual reality. The results of theoretical studies of psychological and philosophical sources on the topic are presented. Satisfying needs in virtual reality has not been studied by many scientists, which proves the relevance of this topic. The basis of the study is the idea of semiotics about sign systems (C.W. Morris), processes of internalization and externalization of information of various forms (J. Piaget). From the author's point of view, the virtual world, the main form of which is cyberspace (Internet space) is nothing more than the modern stage of information mediation of activity through the semantic, linguistic space. The article presents a theoretical vision of the process of satisfying the main categories of personal needs, based on the research of specialists from various fields: sociology, psychology, pedagogy. The author pays special attention to the psychology of computer games, cybervolunteering, and the psychological needs of the individual. In the opinion of the author, the most important problem of modern research on virtual reality and the Internet arises. Namely, the lack of research on the context of the occurrence of the connection of personality and any interface that connects a person with computer virtuality as a source of satisfaction of needs.
