Abstract
The present study entitled “Evaluation of Pseudomonas fluorescens on damping off disease in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) nursery” was conducted in the glasshouse of Department of Plant Protection, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Allahabad. Pseudomonas fluorescens recovered from rhizosphere soil. Field evaluation for bio-control action was assessed in tomato nursery against damping off disease caused by Fusarium spp. and Pythium spp. was reduced by the application of talc based formulation of Pseudomonas fluorescens in tomato nursery. Not only reducing the incidence of disease but also the antagonist increased the plant height, plant weight and seed germination percentage in comparison to check with copper oxychloride and control. The treatment T3 (Seed and soil treatment with Pseudomonas fluorescens) was most effective among the treatment of Pseudomonas fluorescens.
