Abstract

On November 16, 2023, the Ural archaeologist Lidiya Ivanovna Ashikhmina passed away almost unnoticed by the scientific community in Syktyvkar. The fate of Lidia Ivanovna turned out to be very strange and tragic. However, only someone who did not know her personally can say that. There are many unusual zigzags in Lydia Ivanovna's scientific biography, but in memory of her I would like to refer to one episode related to the excavations of the Vyatka Buisk settlement. This is one of the few monuments in the region that has been excavated almost completely, preserving evidence of different archaeological epochs – from the Bronze Age to the middle – third quarter of the I millennium AD.
