Abstract

Knowledge is power. This simple truth has been traced in human works for centuries. Initially, this phrase is found in the Book of Proverbs (24:5) in the form "as a wise man is strong, but a man of knowledge increases strength." Later, a similar phrase was found in Francis Bacon's Meditationes Sacrae, and then in Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan. It reflects a deep universal understanding that one who knows the truth has the ability to both understand the essence of the current world situation and change the surrounding reality in accordance with knowledge. However, as human civilization developed, certain costs that knowledge brings to man were revealed. These costs also manifest themselves in the economy, which is discussed in this paper.
