Abstract
The article discusses modern approaches and methods of cartographic monitoring and modeling of water resources, which is especially important in the context of climate change and increasing pressure on aquatic ecosystems. The main methods of geoinformation systems (GIS) and remote sensing are analyzed, which make it possible to assess the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of water resources, their spatial variability and dynamics. The use of integrated cartographic and modeling technologies contributes to improving the efficiency of water resources management and conservation. Examples of the use of cartographic monitoring for modeling watersheds and reservoirs are given, and the main difficulties and prospects in this area are identified.
