Introduction: Healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) are more likely to occur in healthcare settings, driven by factors involving host, pathogen and environmental elements, including healthcare personnel. Infection prevention and control (IPC) practices are crucial to mitigate pathogen transmission, with hand hygiene being especially effective.
