The scientific legacy of Professor Alexander Kamchatnov, who died on March 9, 2025, is great and multifaceted. It is a moral duty and a sacred obligation of deceased's colleagues and students to study this legacy carefully, evaluate the scientist's contribution to the Russian linguistics development, and comprehend the importance and significance of his works for philological science. It is confidently to say that the name of Alexander Kamchatnov is inscribed in the golden treasury of Russian science forever. The article briefly describes A. Kamchatnov's life and his creative path, as well as a chronological list of his main scientific works.
