Abstract

Purpose - This paper investigates how organizations must fundamentally transform their human resource strategies to effectively engage, retain, and develop Generation Z employees through enhanced well-being initiatives, authentic belonging experiences, and comprehensive digital enablement. Design/methodology/approach - This conceptual paper develops the BRIDGE framework (Belonging, Resilience, Innovation, Digital-first, Growth, Engagement) through synthesis of contemporary organizational psychology literature and emerging workplace trends specifically addressing Gen Z workforce needs. Findings - Organizations implementing integrated well-being, belonging, and digital enablement strategies demonstrate significantly improved Gen Z employee engagement, retention rates, and organizational performance outcomes compared to traditional HR approaches. Originality - This study presents the first comprehensive framework specifically designed for Gen Z workforce integration, combining psychological well-being principles with digital-native workplace design and authentic belonging initiatives. Research limitations/implications - Future empirical validation across diverse organizational contexts and longitudinal studies examining framework implementation effectiveness are necessary to strengthen theoretical foundations. Practical implications - The BRIDGE framework provides actionable guidance for HR professionals to develop Gen Z-centric policies, practices, and organizational cultures that drive sustainable competitive advantage. Viraj P.
