Abstract
This study aims to strengthen the values of religious moderation within the Islamic College of Siak Regency (STAI Siak) through community service programs based on local Malay-Islamic wisdom. The research background highlights the limited understanding of students regarding moderation values such as tolerance, national commitment, and respect for diversity. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, data were collected through field observation, in-depth interviews, and reflective discussions with lecturers, students, and local community leaders. The findings indicate that community engagement activities rooted in ukhuwah Islamiyah, ukhuwah wathoniyah, and ukhuwah insaniyah fostered equality, cooperation, and mutual respect among students and the community. Around 92% of respondents perceived students behavior as reflecting moderate, inclusive, and socially harmonious attitudes. In conclusion, the integration of local cultural values in promoting religious moderation effectively shapes students to become tolerant, inclusive, and peace-oriented agents within a multicultural society.
