PROVISION OF UKRAINIAN POPULATION WITH FISH AND FISH PRODUCTS ON THE CURRENT STAGE OF FORMATION OF MARKET RELATIONS

Decline of fish and fish product production amounts in Ukraine within last few years considerably affected the level of consumption of population with these products. It was fourd that provision with domestic fish products is only 6 kg per capita. The deficiency is covered by import. Taking into account availability of potential of Ukraine in the problem of supplying population with high-quality fish products, the State policy should be directed on assistance to the increase of efficiency of functioning of fishery complex and on the creation of necessary conditions for increasing production amount of competitive domestic fish products.
