Abstract
The age characteristics of emotional intelligence of health care institutes’ managers have been explored. It was found that in the age of 30 to 60 years the leaders has a significant increase in the level of emotional intelligence, after 60 years - a downward trend. Managers in age of 60 years or older may be equally successful on the background of different levels of general emotional intelligence because of forming their individual style of management activities. From 30 to 60 years the value of emotional intelligence components, such as "self-motivation", "empathy" and "the recognition of emotions", significantly increases. It provides the significantly highest level of general emotional intelligence in the age group of 50-59 years old managers. The tendency to lower of values of all the components of the general emotional intelligence, especially ? "empathy" (-25.2%), appears after 60 years.
